I am very excited to announce that my girl Ferrari completed her AKC championship last weekend at the Midland, Texas dog shows- pending AKC confirmation. Ferrari was shown to her last points by my friend Lea Bertsch. She was shown to her major wins by Ferrari’s breeder Margie Blount. Ferrari was trained and shown to her first points by my daughter Caitlin White. Other friends helped along the way including some expert trimming by master groomer- Rosalie Ward. I’m so grateful for all the help from my friends and daughter.

Ferrari winning her last point under judge Charles Olvis, shown by Lea Bertsch. The photographer actually flipped this photo of Ferrari to show off the white side of her collar. I’m adding some other photos of Ferrari to show both her right and left sides.

I purchased Ferrari from Margie Blount, her breeder. Ferrari’s AKC name is now Ch. Commander’s Tairis Flashdance. Ferrari is sired by Lucas, aka Ch Milas Tairis Commander’s Stardancer, out of Ch Commander’s Diva in Silk Stockings of Jaeds (Duchess.) Ferrari has a very nice pedigree with her handsome Milas sire Lucas, and her pretty dam Duchess- who goes back to Clarion and Afterhours families.

Ferrari is a sweet girl with the outstanding movement of her ancestors. She is the only girl at my house that is not a descendant of my girl Poppy- (Ch Tairis A League of Her Own.) However, Ferrari is a descendant of Poppy’s sister Reven- who is the grandmother of Lucas.

I am planning to breed Ferrari to our white champion Milas boy- Ch Milas Tairis Commander’s Sundance Kid, aka “Harry” later in the spring. Harry has a gorgeous face, great neck and excellent movement along with a big, happy personality. I think it will be a great match. If puppies result, they could be any collie color- sable, tricolor, blue merle, sable merle, or white with any of those color markings.

I did not plan to have any more litters, but Ferrari is too nice, with a history of great collies behind her, not to see what she can contribute to the collie gene pool.

If all goes well, I may have some Harry/ Ferrari puppies born this coming summer.
